Unplug and Listen

Hey Y'all ! Welcome to another blog post. Since I have been inside the house like the rest of the world, I have been taking more time to just unwind and think. We are living in crazy times, but when is the last you guys took a minute away from things like " social media " and gave your mental state a breather. When was the last time you were present with the people you care most about ?

Growing up using social media pages such as My Space, Bebo ( My Louisiana family will know what I am talking about), Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all other forms of apps that are on smart phones has been a central way to keep us connected with friends and family for over a century now. I preferably like to spend any free time I have working on special crafts and it has been that way since I was a young girl, but even when I have absolutely nothing to do I think there has always been a sense of urgency to be present, especially in today's society. To look up and not down at others or at a screen because every single interaction you have with someone creates a repetitive wave. With all this time on my hands, I have come to really think about the relationships that I am involved in and continue to embrace. To the ones that go above and beyond to spread love, I thank you with all my heart. I love all my friends, family, and my partner in different ways, but what do you do when social media just pesters a relationship you're involved in? It could be a girlfriend/boyfriend who isn't giving you attention because they rather live through others' social lives. Or maybe a friend that when you're with them you couldn't feel more lonely because your voice only echoes in your ears and goes right through theirs without a sound. I'm here to say we've all been there, especially me trying to build my brand on social media. It can be frustrating, but it could also be the best thing. You find out who really listens when you unplug. Maybe it's you who needs to do the unplugging. It's so important these days to be present because years from now who knows if Instagram, Twitter, or whatever app that consumes your day to day activities will even matter then and it probably won't. What does matter though is what you do with it because, it can instantly be gone tomorrow.  Find the people in your life who make you forget about looking at your phone. You can spare a few hours to unplug and listen. You will be amazed at what happens when you do.

That is all for now my loves. I challenge you today to take a break from social media from time to time! Use this time to bond with family and loved ones. If you are away from your loved ones and you can only FaceTime them try not to pause the screen, but be present and simply listen. I love you all so much ! Continue to be safe and wash your hands :) Feel free to like this post and comment below !

If you guys could be so kind to donate to one of my best friends during this time it would be really appreciated ! She lost her father to COVID -19 who was the sole provider of their family and now she and her older brother are battling COVID - 19 as well. If you can not donate please find it in your heart to share the link and say a prayer ! Thank you :)

Here is a precious photo of all of them :)
