Fashion Highlight of The Week : Henry Jimenez

Updated: Sep 15, 2019

Every week I will introduce someone with great fashion sense. I've realized that every individual is different and unique in their own personal styles . Highlighting peoples personal style gives me inspiration and I hope it does the same for you ! Stay tuned ;)

My fashion highlight this week (the first) is none other than Henry Jimenez A.K.A Mister Iconic! His style is highly unique and each outfit he wears makes a statement. Follow him on his instagram handle to find out exactly what I am talking about. I had the pleasure of interviewing him on his personal style and here is what he said:

How would you describe your personal style .

“ My personal sense of style can be described as SoHo. I incorporate many different trends into fashion and make it my own .”

What are three words that describe you ?

“ If i had to break myself down into just three words it would be fashionable , honest , and extra.”

What is some fashion advice that you would want to share with others ?

“ I have three pieces of fashion advice that everyone can follow”

  1. Black does not match with everything

  2. Pattern on pattern doesn’ t always look terrible as long as it’s done right ( I still have not mastered this )

  3. Don’t be afraid to thrift shop, you’ll definitely find some cute pieces ( About 45  % of my closet is thrifted)

Who is your biggest fashion inspiration ?

“  My biggest fashion inspirations are the people that surround me. When I look at my friends and I see something I like, I wear it.  This applies to internet personalities as well; like Curly Velasquez and Jazzmyne Robbins of Buzzfeed.”

Where do you go shopping ?

“ Most of my clothes are bought at places people consider to be “ fast fashion,” like H&M, Forever 21 , and Primark, but a good percentage of my clothes are bought at thrift shops like L train Vintage, Out of the Closet, and Goodwill.”

In your opinion , what is a big fashion no no ?

“ A big fashion no-no or a fashion faux pas is the notion is that black matches with everything. IT DOES NOT. Another one is that throwing on brand names will automatically match and make you look cute.”

Outfit details :

Hat : Wish

Shirt: Primark

Pants: L'Train Vintage

Shoes: Converse
